Our Future Strategy
Looking ahead, the Workgroup will focus on initiatives that
create real value for EPIC members and the broader photonics ecosystem:
1. Sustainability Guidelines for Photonics
Development of a practical guideline and checklist
specifically tailored for photonics companies, supporting them in implementing
sustainability actions efficiently.
2. Continued Member Engagement
We will continue to host online meetings, in‑person
events, and one‑to‑one sessions to inspire companies, share tangible
business benefits, and promote hands-on learning. A key goal is involving even
more participants across all EPIC regions.
3. EPIC Sustainability Award
The Workgroup will present the second EPIC Sustainability
Award during the EPIC AGM & Summit, 28–30 April 2026,
celebrating companies that lead by example.
4. Platform for Member Ideas
We aim to be a space where members can propose, test, and
scale sustainability initiatives.
5. Recognition of Green Products
EPIC will establish a recognition programme highlighting
members who are creating environmentally friendly or “green” photonics
products.
6. World Sustainability Day
The Workgroup will celebrate World Sustainability Day on
26 October with thematic activities and shared industry actions.
